Terms and Conditions

Effective date: January 17, 2026

Welcome to FilamentSpecs (“FilamentSpecs”, “we”, “us”, “our”). These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of https://filamentspecs.com/ (the “Site”).

By accessing, browsing, or using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

Some parts are straightforward. Some are a little more detailed because they need to be. We’re not trying to sound robotic here — we just want expectations to be clear.

1) Who We Are

Website: FilamentSpecs

URL: https://filamentspecs.com/

Contact email: support@filamentspecs.com

We publish educational content, comparisons, tools, and reference-style information related to 3D printing filaments and printing materials. Sometimes we review products. Sometimes we summarize specs. Sometimes we provide calculators or quick recommendations. It’s all meant to help.

2) Eligibility

You may use the Site if you are legally able to enter into an agreement in your country or region. If you are using the Site on behalf of a company or organization, you represent that you have the authority to accept these Terms on their behalf.

The Site is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required by local law). If you are under that age, please do not use the Site.

3) Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Effective date” at the top of this page.

By continuing to use the Site after changes take effect, you agree to the updated Terms. If you don’t agree with the changes, your option is simple: stop using the Site.

4) What You Can Do on FilamentSpecs

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable permission to access and use the Site for personal, non-commercial purposes (unless we explicitly allow otherwise in writing).

You may:

  • Read articles and guides
  • Use comparisons and tools (if available)
  • Share links to our pages on social media, forums, or websites
  • Quote small excerpts with proper credit and a link back to the original page

You may not:

  • Copy, republish, or redistribute full articles or databases without permission
  • Scrape the Site aggressively or use automated tools that harm performance
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, break, or bypass security measures
  • Use the Site in a way that is illegal, harmful, or abusive
  • Use our name, branding, or content in a way that suggests endorsement when there is none

We’re maker-friendly. We’re not “steal our entire website and mirror it” friendly.

5) Content and Information Disclaimer (Important)

The Site provides general informational and educational content about 3D printing filaments, materials, printing settings, and related topics. It is not professional engineering advice, and it is not a substitute for manufacturer documentation, safety instructions, or proper testing.

3D printing involves heat, moving parts, fumes, electricity, sharp tools, and real risk. Your setup is your responsibility. Always follow the safety guidance of your printer, filament, and equipment manufacturers.

We do our best to keep information accurate, updated, and useful. But filament brands change formulas, printers behave differently, humidity exists, and what works perfectly for one person can fail for another. So:

All content is provided “as is” and “as available”.

We make no guarantees that:

  • Specific settings will work on your machine
  • Any filament will behave exactly as described
  • Any comparison will match your personal preferences or results
  • The Site will always be available without interruptions

If you use information from this Site, you do so at your own risk. Test carefully. Start with safe defaults. Increase temperature slowly. Keep a fire safety plan. This is not drama — it’s basic workshop reality.

6) Filament Data, Specs, and Comparisons

FilamentSpecs may include:

  • Material properties (e.g., glass transition temperature, tensile strength, flexibility)
  • Recommended nozzle/bed temperatures
  • Print tips and profiles
  • Comparisons between filaments, brands, and categories
  • Charts, tables, rankings, or scoring systems

These are provided for convenience. They may be based on manufacturer datasheets, public information, community experience, testing, editorial judgment, or a combination of these.

Specs can change without notice. Manufacturers update materials, resellers list incorrect values, and marketing pages sometimes exaggerate. We try to correct errors when we find them.

If you spot something wrong, we’d genuinely appreciate a heads-up at support@filamentspecs.com.

We may update, remove, or reorganize any content at any time. That includes comparison scores, rankings, or “best of” lists. This isn’t personal. It’s maintenance.

7) Affiliate Links, Sponsored Content, and Monetization

Some pages on FilamentSpecs may include affiliate links. This means if you click a link and make a purchase, we may earn a commission — at no extra cost to you.

We may also display ads or publish sponsored content in the future. If we do, we aim to label sponsored content clearly.

Affiliate relationships do not mean we guarantee a product, a seller, delivery times, or pricing accuracy. Prices change fast. Stock disappears. Shipping varies. That’s between you and the retailer.

In short: we may earn money from some links, but we do not become part of your transaction.

8) Third-Party Websites and Services

The Site may link to third-party websites (shops, manufacturers, tools, forums, video platforms, etc.). Those websites are not controlled by us.

We are not responsible for third-party content, policies, pricing, availability, or any damage or loss that may occur from using third-party services. If you buy something, that relationship is between you and the seller.

We recommend reading third-party terms and privacy policies before engaging with them.

9) Intellectual Property

All content on the Site — including text, branding, logos, design, graphics, tables, original comparisons, and editorial structure — is owned by FilamentSpecs or licensed to us, unless otherwise stated.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from our content without prior written permission, except where allowed by law (for example, fair use/fair dealing) or explicitly permitted in these Terms.

If you want to use our content for something bigger than a quote and a link, email us. We’re reasonable people.

10) User Content (Comments, Messages, Submissions)

If you submit content to the Site (such as comments, feedback, suggested corrections, or other materials), you confirm that:

  • You have the right to share it
  • It does not violate any laws or third-party rights
  • It does not contain harmful code, spam, or abusive material

You also grant FilamentSpecs a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, display, and adapt that content for the purpose of operating and improving the Site (for example: publishing a correction you submitted, or quoting feedback).

We are not obligated to publish anything you submit. We may remove content at any time for any reason, including spam, harassment, or just keeping the Site clean.

Be respectful. Keep it useful. Don’t post personal information you don’t want public.

11) Prohibited Activities

You agree not to do any of the following:

  • Use the Site for unlawful purposes
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site, server, or systems
  • Interfere with security, rate limits, or anti-bot protections
  • Scrape or crawl the Site in a way that harms performance or violates applicable law
  • Upload malware, spam, or malicious scripts
  • Harass, threaten, or abuse other users or our team
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity

We can block access, limit features, or take action if we believe the Site is being abused. We don’t need to argue about it first.

12) Availability, Downtime, and Changes

We aim to keep FilamentSpecs online and fast. But sometimes things break. Servers go down. Updates happen. Maintenance is necessary. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Site at any time, with or without notice. This includes features, tools, pages, and content categories.

We are not liable for any loss caused by downtime, removal of features, or changes to the Site.

13) Disclaimer of Warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, FilamentSpecs provides the Site and its content without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

This includes, but is not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the Site will be error-free, secure, or always available. We also do not warrant that any content is complete, perfectly accurate, or always up to date.

We try hard. But we don’t promise perfection. Nobody can.

14) Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, FilamentSpecs and its owners, operators, contributors, and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.

This includes (without limitation) damages for lost profits, lost data, business interruption, equipment damage, failed prints, material waste, personal injury, or any other loss arising out of or related to your use of the Site or reliance on its content.

If you are dissatisfied with the Site, your sole and exclusive remedy is to stop using it.

In any case, to the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to the Site will not exceed USD $10 (or the minimum amount allowed by law), even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability. If those laws apply to you, some parts of this section may not apply. The rest still does.

15) Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless FilamentSpecs from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:

  • Your use of the Site
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any law or third-party rights
  • Your misuse of information from the Site

This is a standard protection clause. It basically means: if your actions cause legal trouble, you’re responsible for it, not us.

16) Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site at any time if we believe you have violated these Terms, harmed the Site, or created risk for other users or us.

Termination may happen without notice. Sometimes we warn first. Sometimes we don’t. It depends on the situation.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification).

17) Governing Law

These Terms are governed by applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles. Because FilamentSpecs is an online service available internationally, the specific legal rules may vary depending on where you live.

Where required, mandatory consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction will still apply.

18) Severability

If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining sections will continue in full force and effect.

19) Contact

If you have questions about these Terms, contact us at:

support@filamentspecs.com

We’ll do our best to respond in a reasonable time. Sometimes the fastest fix is a clear message.
